I am a New York-based child therapist with 10+ years of experience in the fields of child development & mental health. I currently work as a school based social worker and a private therapist, supporting children of all ages and their families.

What is Play Therapy?

Before developing language, children express their thoughts, feelings and experiences through play! Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate mental health treatment approach for children and families. The play therapist is able to understand and communicate with a child through their most natural and expressive form of communication. Additionally, verbal children are given the opportunity to not only speak experiences aloud, but to feel and process them in real time. While play therapy is typically utilized for children 3-12 years of age, it is accessible in various forms all throughout the lifespan. Families can become involved by joining their child in the playroom with the guidance of a play therapist.

My approach.

In my practice, I utilize a trauma and attachment-informed approach. My specialties include working with children and teens who have experienced big and/or many stressors at a young age. I often work with neurodivergent kids and their families. I additionally enjoy providing care for LGBTQ+ kids, people, and families. My goal is to create a truly safe and inviting space for young people to explore freely. 

I view parent engagement as a big part of my work, as parents have an immeasurable knowing of their child.  I'm here to listen to parents, and hold deep respect and empathy for caregivers and the parent-child relationship.
